When
you’re building or modifying anything, most people would test fit
the main components before you’d send them out for expensive finishing.
In this case, tanks, fenders and air cleaner, not for a Harley but for a
Titan. Not satisfied with the standard Titan Bill decided to Trick it up
a little, with Arlen Ness tanks etc.
The paintjob was a very complex affair, lots of artwork, with numerous images
from classic American cowboy films. Gun fight at the OK Corral, Butch Cassidy
etc. The bike was Bill all over and he loved it.
About a fortnight later I happened to call in at the Trading Post only to
find Bill struggling to cut six inches off the fiberglass rear fender with
a wood saw, the front fender didn’t fit and the tanks didn’t
sit right either.
But as you can see the wonderful power of man cursing worked in the end.
