The Daily Race
--
I think every transport artist that I know has painted a Race of one description or another, so rather than be left out, here’s my effort.
--
Imagine the scene his lordship has his favourite 1927 racing Norton, firmly strapped to his homespun aluminium sidecar, his lordship hates sidecars, but due to his gout and his love of Scotch he can’t race the bike anymore. But my god he can still take part..!!

Today he’s interviewing a new chauffeur and that of course involves the trip to the station with the caveat that they must arrive before the train, and with his 490 Cc Engine Norton fitted with lots of go faster goodies including special con rod, trick cam and fly wheel there should be no excuses.
--
So with his lordship hanging on for dear life while simultaneously feeding his adrenaline fix, the train suddenly appeared as if in hot pursuit.
With the motorcycle screaming for mercy, the pair tear off like lunatics down the dusty lane that eventually leads to the station, just so his lordship can pick up the daily mail and his morning newspaper.
